Ashley Murphy of Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ebony Williams of Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, and Misty Copeland of the American Ballet Theatre cover the June / July 2014 issue of Pointe magazine to voice their struggle of achieving notoriety in the dace world as professional ballerinas of color.

Why you sleeping on us slim girls?! We need love too!😭

Never that loll y’all are everything as well. Trust.

Ebola won’t kill us all, but something else might. Like everything living on Earth, viruses must evolve to survive. That is why avian influenza has provoked so much anxiety; it has not yet mutated into an infection that can spread easily. Maybe it never will, but it could happen tomorrow. A pandemic is like an earthquake that we expect but cannot quite predict.

Black people police themselves so much in public

rococobutter:

And they don’t even think about it. Don’t talk too loud, don’t make too many requests, don’t complain too forcefully about shitty service, put up with weird ass slightly racial compliments. And sometimes we joke about it like “lol! Better not do (normal human thing) cuz then…

You are about the most ignorant person on here. I live in NYC and I’m black and my friends are black and we all HAVE to police ourselves. The folks you’re talking about will bother their own people cause there a little fucks given about black on black crime out here. But as soon as we step foot out of our hood and into an area where it’s white like manhattan for example. We are automatically watched. We aren’t dumb, we are fully aware that the spotlight is on us. Stop and frisk was a constant reminder.

reblogging here because i can see this being relevant to anyone who’s ever tried to get out of an abusive relationship

Reblogging because that last comment made me reread the whole thing in a new light and realize this could be vital information. So, putting it out there for everyone, and hoping no one ever really needs it.

Will Ebola become a worldwide health crisis?

Be VERY careful guys, avoid traveling to that part of the world until this is under control, wash your hands, if you do travel there DO NOT eat bush meat (squirrels and other animals that are cheap sources of meat) because they can spread the disease. This is a deadly, painful, gruesome disease that can cause both internal and external hemorrhaging, it is not something to be trifled with. My mother is a nurse and no other infectious disease worries her like ebola does, so stay clean and avoid anything that would put you at risk for contracting this disease.

Plot twist! Americans have contracted it and they’re bringing them to a facility in Atlanta!

Everybody NEEDS to know about this.

Listen. As long as no world war z or 28 days later shit pop off I’m good loll

And not a type of way of living that non-Black people will understand
